„Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is the oldest Polish periodical of archaeology, established in 1873, from 1929 being an official journal of the State Archaeological Museum in Warsaw, published annually. „Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is a peer-reviewed journal.

„Wiadomości Archeologiczne” presents papers and contributions focused on archaeology of Poland and Central Europe grouped under four general headings: Essays, Miscellanea, Materials and Discoveries.

„Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is published either in Polish, with summaries in English, or in English or German, with summaries in Polish. All papers are accompanied by abstracts written in English, keywords in English and Polish, and authors' identification details (affiliation, correspondence address, e-mail address).

„Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is listed on the European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH) and The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH). Starting from Volume 56 (2006) summaries of published papers are available from the CEJSH website.

The primary version of „Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is its paper edition.
